Our website is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany.

Storage Duration

Unless a more specific storage period is stated in this privacy policy, we store personal data only for as long as it is necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. If you request deletion or withdraw consent, we delete your data unless legal retention obligations or other legally permitted grounds require continued storage.

Session and tracking data (e.g., UTM parameters, referrer, technical metadata) is retained for 6 months and used exclusively in aggregate form for analytics and attribution purposes.

Solar Comparison and Checkout Inquiry Data

When you use the solar comparison and checkout inquiry flow, we may collect the following data:

• Energy needs
• Household information where provided
• Selected offer data
• Name
• Email address
• Phone number

We process this data to generate and display matching solar offers and to forward inquiries for the offers you select in checkout.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR because the processing is necessary to provide the requested comparison and inquiry service.

Your inquiry data is shared only with installers connected to the offers selected in checkout. This includes recommended offers that remain selected and excludes offers that you remove before submitting the checkout inquiry.

Once your data has been forwarded to installers, they process it as independent data controllers under the GDPR based on their own privacy policies. Check Solar has no control over their further processing of your data.

We store inquiry data for the duration needed to process the offer request. If no contract results, we delete the inquiry data after 12 months unless legal retention obligations apply.

Marketing Emails

During the checkout process, you may optionally consent to receiving marketing emails from Check Solar. This consent is voluntary and does not affect the processing of your offer inquiry.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent). You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future by using the unsubscribe link in the respective email or by contacting us at info@check-solar.com.

Contact Form

When you use our contact form, we collect the following data:

• Name
• Email address
• Message

We process this data to handle your inquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to user inquiries). To protect against spam and abuse, we use Google reCAPTCHA on the contact form (see the "Google reCAPTCHA" section).

Cookies

We use technically necessary cookies required to operate the website and provide requested functions. In addition, with your consent, we use marketing cookies for conversion measurement (see the "Meta Pixel" section below).

The legal basis for technically necessary cookies is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in providing a functional and secure website. Marketing cookies are only set with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

Meta Pixel and Conversions API

We use the Meta Pixel and the Conversions API (CAPI) provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, Merrion Road, Dublin 4, D04 X2K5, Ireland ("Meta") on our website. These services are only activated if you have given your consent via our cookie banner.

Purpose and Scope of Processing

The Meta Pixel tracks the following events on our website:

• Page views (PageView)
• Search queries (Search)
• Checkout initiation (InitiateCheckout)
• Inquiry submission (Lead)

Additionally, as part of "Advanced Matching," hashed user data may be transmitted to Meta, including:

• Email address
• Phone number
• First name and last name
• Postal code and city

The Meta Pixel sets the cookies _fbp and _fbc in your browser. The Conversions API transmits the same event data server-side to Meta for deduplication and improved attribution.

Google reCAPTCHA

We use Google reCAPTCHA on our contact forms to protect against spam and automated abuse. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google").

When using reCAPTCHA, the following data may be transmitted to Google:

• Browser data and screen resolution
• Behavioral data (e.g., mouse movements, keystrokes)
